The Jeweled Desert
Rubaya is the Ruby City, named after the massive obelisk-like, ruby-colored tower that makes up the center. It is the seat of the Emperor of the Jeweled Desert, and has been the single capital for the past 30 years, ever since Sapphaya was destroyed.
Rubaya has several sections of the city. Avandra’s Walk is the market section, a sprawling mess of buildings, maze-like and constantly building on each other. It sits to the left of the front gate. The Golden Square surrounds the Ruby Tower, holding the six temples to the Golden Pantheon and the House of the Dead. Stretching from the front gate and rightward is the Sunkissed Circle, holding the Imperial Palace and the wealthier homes. The back wall is called Wallside, and has the poorer sections of the city.
Outside of Rubaya sits the Silk City, an expansion made mostly of tents. It is considered part of the city itself, but is not within its walls.
